Below is some information on the various ministries of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.
We offer a variety of worship services and styles at St. Mark’s. We hope that as you worship with us you feel welcome and encounter God while here. All are welcome to join us for any of our worship services.
Sunday @ 9:30am
Wednesday @7pm during Advent & Lent
We celebrate Holy Communion at all our services. You can expect excellent music, rich liturgy and Biblically focused messages at our services. Children’s Sunday School is provided for part of the service. Children are dismissed to Sunday School after the children’s sermon and return for communion. Nursery is provided for children under 4 during our service if desired.
11:30am Gathering (Modern Worship)
Sunday @ 11:30am
Modern Worship Experience
Our modern worship experience is a gathering that seeks to build authentic community, worship freely and experience Jesus. Communion and prayer stations are offered during the 11:30am Gathering.
Children at St. Mark’s are able to enjoy many opportunities to learn about God, connect with one another and experience the activities of the church with their families. We have Sunday School for children during a portion of the worship service each Sunday morning (children head to Sunday School after the children’s sermon and return for communion), Vacation Bible School in the summer and many other events throughout the year. Please check out our calendar and news page to find out more. You can also contact our Family and Outreach Pastor here.
We have an active youth ministry at St. Mark’s that includes confirmation, weekly youth group (grades 6 & up) during the school year and many other fun and meaningful events during the school year as well as during the summer. Please check out our calendar and news page to find out more. Currently we have a monthly game night, weekly confirmation class (grades 7 & up) and weekly youth group for our middle and high school youth. Please check out our calendar and news page to find out more. You can also contact our Family and Outreach Pastor here.
Alpha is a cornerstone of St. Mark’s ministry. Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the Christian faith. Each talk looks at a different question around faith and is designed to create conversation. Please check our calendar for dates and times.
Adult Discipleship & Spiritual Formation
Our adult ministry currently consists of 4 Bible Study/Small Group opportunities. We have a Bible study twice a month on Sunday’s after church, a Saturday morning Bible study for anyone as well as our Pastor’s Bible study on Thursday mornings. Check out calendar for dates and times. This fall we will have some additional ‘faith forums’ on selected Sunday mornings and on Wednesday nights during October.
Adult choir meets from September through May.
The Chancel Choir is offering choir rehearsals on:
1. Wednesday nights at 7:00 – 8:00 p.m.
3. Sunday morning warmup at 9:15 a.m. (in the basement on days the choir sings the anthem)
Modern Worship Team
Our Modern Worship Team meets weekly to plan and lead the worship for our 11:30am Gathering. Vocalists and a variety of instruments are used and needed.
The Rainbow Choir meets periodically through the year, and usually meets before the 9:30 a.m. worship service on Sunday.
Handbell Choir usually has practice during Lent and Advent for special music during these times.

What St. Mark’s looks for in ministry partners:
Kingdom Focused Partnerships
Our goal is that we would partner with organizations for the purpose of expanding the Kingdom of God. We will not enter into partnerships with organizations unless we can clearly communicate how this is a Kingdom focused partnership.
Mission focused organizations
We are interested in mission, not building of organizations. Far too often ministries are interested in building their organization as opposed to pursuing a mission.
Aligned in Values
St. Mark’s will not partner with organizations that are in direct conflict with and/or antagonistic towards the values and mission of St. Mark’s and the greater Christian tradition.
Like minded organizations
We will not limit our partnerships to Lutheran organizations or even Christian organizations. We believe that we may responsibly partner with “like minded” organizations who fit the values and mission of St. Mark’s.
Connection to St. Marks
We like to partner with organizations that have a connection to St. Mark’s. Whether the connection is that they’re in Auburn, a member from our church is a part of the organization, or they have joined us in ministering to another group.
Financial Approval through appropriate channels
All financial commitments must be approved through proper channels.
